    reasonably spacious rooms with exceptionally comfortable beds and wake-up service. superb breakfast each morning, marvellous and stunning location in the centre of the bathroom.

    E&O has a special and relaxed athmosphere. It can easily bring back you in time.... The Deluxe room was really spacious and convenient. Highly recommended experience.

    We enjoy the romance of the hotels history and architecture. It has a style and old world sophisticarion that we enjoy. We have been wanting to stay there since 1973 when we first travelled through Penang as backpackers.

    The Location of E&O to Georgetown Historic Sites allows us to move around the different old and interesting sites within the Georgetown proper. It also is an easy access to the bars and food area. The staff were very accomodating and courteous and very helpful. I like that they provide fruits in your room everyday

    The pool and gym is so small. They only have one treadmill

    A deluxe experience, with a warm and personal staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and anticipate any needs. Staff were helpful and friendly in offering suggestions as to how to spend our time and where to eat outside the hotel for good local food.

    Location, old world charm.

    Aircon was cold regardless of the setting chosen. Few Tv channels. Sarkies a la carte menu limited. Waiters not attentive.

    Historical / heritage building in Georgetown.

    The maintenance of the room could be better. Some things are worn out or not maintained well. The beats from the disco / nightclub below or nearby can be heard from the room. Spoilt the image of a reputable luxury hotel.

    The balcony of my Corner Suite provided amazing sea views, enhancing our family in-room dining experience. Breakfast at Sarkies featured a great spread that catered to all tastes, making each morning special.

    Fantastic old fashioned charm and ambience in this heritage building. Very comfortable rooms. Breakfast outside on the terrace by the sea is excellent. Staff very willing and helpful. Stayed twice and hope to return.

    The breakfast selection delighted us daily, especially the fresh local dishes. Dining at 1885 was an exquisite treat, despite minor hiccups in service. Pro tip, make reservations well in advance for peak times!

    The Easter & Oriental represents a level of service that has sadly disappeared. Our personal butler could not do too much for us. The decor and atmosphere was stylish and traditional whilst retaining comfort to a modern standard. The swimming pool is ideally situated and the dining areas are very pleasant. The breakfast offered all that any traveller could wish. Service was very attentive. We enjoyed the welcome juice drink on arrival. The laundry service was excellent. The bathroom was place to linger and luxuriate if only we had the time! The beds were perfectly comfortable and room temperature control was easy and effective. We look forward to a chance to return!

    Our only gripe was that we felt the addition of cushions to the somewhat low and hard seats in the Sarkies bar would be a good improvement.

    The staff were so helpful and understanding, I arrived very early on my own with a special needs child, they raced around and organised my room so I could check in straight away which was fantastic. The place is so relaxing and has a graciousness about it, absolute luxury.

    The beautiful suite king had amazing sea views from a large wrap-around balcony. Breakfast was an absolute treat with freshly baked pastries and a variety of local dishes available. Staff were attentive, we had everything we needed, from a comfy sofa in our room to a luxurious double shower. Loved the infinity pool with a fine view!
